Position Description
Title: Clinical Social Worker
Hours: Part Time
Salary: To be negotiated
Starting Date: Immediately
General Functions:
Within the NORC~SSP, under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Senior Services and in collaboration with the social work and health care staff, the Clinical Social Worker will assess and provide therapeutic treatment to older persons utilizing individual and group modality, as needed.
Requirements:
The successful candidates should possess an LCSW and have a minimum of three (3) years experience in providing comprehensive, culturally competent services to low-income high-risk seniors, including the frail, isolated and homebound.
Bi-lingual ability in Spanish preferred. Familiarity with entitlements and government reporting as well as ability to plan and develop treatment plans is essential. Some home visits will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Gain an understanding of program mission, goals, objectives and programmatic approach
- Gain an understanding of the community, resources and population
- Provide clinical assessments, treatment plans and conduct treatment sessions utilizing both individual and group methodologies.
- Monitor cases for effective interventions and refer cases, with appropriate oversight and follow-up, as needed.
- Maintain case files, including assessments, treatment plans and progress notes as directed by the Director of Senior Services.
- Participate in evaluation/outcome measurement processes including, data collection, and analysis.
- Attendance at bi-weekly case conferences and monthly team meetings, as well as regular supervisory meetings will also be required.
- Attendance at community and other organizational meetings, seminars, workshops as required by service provision and development.

Title: Outreach Worker
Hours: Full Time

General Functions:
Within the NORC~SSP, under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Senior Services and in collaboration with the social work and health care staff, the Outreach Worker will recruit older persons who are both inside and outside the agency and are likely to be eligible clients for the mental health initiative begun by the Lincoln Square Neighborhood Center’s Senior Program. The outreach worker will develop systems for approaching potential clients through families, friends, other agencies and/or self referrals
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have ties to working with the Lincoln Square community. At the very least, they should have experience working with low income, high-risk older persons in a community setting. This experience should include ability to break down initial resistance and inspire confidence in reaching frail, isolated and homebound older persons.
Bi-lingual ability in Spanish is preferred. Familiarity with entitlements and government reporting as well as flexibility in developing a schedule outside of regular business hours is essential. He/she will need effective skills in breaking down initial resistance and inspiring confidence.
Responsibilities:

- Develop a list of potential outreach sites to be visited.
- Develop a list of potential clients to be served by the agency.
- Establish linkages with other providers of services to identify potential clients.
- Make presentations and attend community meetings and events to identify prospective clients for the LSNC Program
- Regularly visit hospitals, including emergency rooms, to further identify potential clients.
- Follow-up with individual clients, as needed.
- Develop press releases, flyers and community presentations, (including tenants’ association meetings, health fairs, faith based organizations, etc.) to make it easier for people to find and participate in the mental health program.
- Attendance at bi-weekly case conferences and monthly team meetings, as well as regular supervisory meetings will also be required.
- Attendance at community and other organizational meetings, seminars, workshops as required by service provision and development.

Title: Assistant Group Leader
Hours: Monday - Friday
20 Hours Weekly (2:00pm until 6:00pm)
Salary: $8.00 ~ $12.00/Hour
Starting Date: As Needed
General Duties:
Under the joint leadership, guidance and supervision of the Associate Director of Career and Education Services, and the Group Leader, the Assistant Group Leader will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of activities to support and strengthen the educational, social and cultural development of young people
Requirements:
Successful candidate must possess a high school diploma, and three to five years experience working in a community based setting with children. Must be motivated, committed, disciplined, punctual and able to demonstrate leadership and creativity. Computer literacy desired.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the research and development of activities for children
- Pick up and escort children from local feeder schools
- Assist in meal service
- Assist in room design and maintenance
- Assist with data collection and reporting, as required
- Attend staff meetings and staff development, a required. Top

Title: Group Activity Specialist - Recreation Specialist
Hours: Monday - Thursday 6:30 PM - 10:00 PM Friday 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Salary: $10.00 - $15.00/hour

General Duties:
Under the leadership, guidance and supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Recreation Specialist will be responsible for developing and coordinating social and recreational activities for youth.
Requirements:
High school diploma or Bachelor’s degree in related youth development field. Three to five years of experience coordinating recreational and social activities in a similar setting with a similar population. Candidate must be emotionally mature and able to communicate effectively, as well as, be grounded in youth development principles, genuinely care for and respect youth, skilled to empower young people in a decision making process and is aware of goals and outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and coordinate social and leisure time recreational activities; so that, young people can develop coordination, physical and team work skills.
- Provide support necessary to assist youth groups in their development here at Lincoln Square and in cooperation with other groups.
- Maintain an awareness of individual needs to consult with Social Work Coordinator for guidance or referral.
- Maintain attendance and/or other recordkeeping and reporting as assigned.
- Attend staff meetings and staff development sessions, as required.
Title: Early Childhood Learning Center Director
Hours: 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM / 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Salary: $45,000 - 60,000, Based on experience and credentials
Starting Date: August 1, 2008
General Duties:
Under the supervision and guidance of the Associate Executive Director of Lincoln Square Neighborhood Center, the Early Childhood Learning Center Director will provide leadership for program staff and 68 children. The Center Director will develop, implement and evaluate the integration of the educational curriculum. The individual will supervise teaching, kitchen, administration and volunteer staff. The Director will work closely with parents and local elementary schools to create and maintain collaborations with community partnerships.
Requirements:
MA or MS in the Early Childhood Education, and NYS N-6 Certification. At least three years experiences in teaching or curriculum development. Knowledge of Administration of Children Services (ACS) and Department of Health regulations. Familiar with UPK Performance Standards, CFAP, and USDA. CPR, MAT, and First Aid Training a plus, but not required. Must be willing to take part in additional training if individual does not posses certificates in above area.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee daily activities of the preschool.
- Work with other management staff to ensure that all paper work for regulatory agencies are completed in a timer manner.
- Develop and structure program in a manner to facilitate and maximize educational literacy and pro-social achievement.
- Develop, research, acquire and maintain preschool resources and curriculum materials.
- Assist with the assessment, design and structure of classroom, space and other needed activities.
- Recruit and supervise staff/ volunteers for programs.
- Help oversee health all needed health services connected to regulatory agencies.
- Participate in case conferences with social worker and teaching staff.
- Assist in fundraising, as feasible.
- Train staff implementing curriculum within the classroom.
- Document and maintain records and reports for ACD, DOE, CAFP, and other sources of funding.
- Document achievements of students and staff, through formal and informal evaluations.
- Act as liaison between Mabel Barrett Fitzgerald participants as well as future elementary schools and possible resource programs.
- Facilitate staff meetings and in house staff development sessions and schedule outside professional development session for staff.
- Schedule and/or facilitate support, resource fairs, workshops, and classroom open houses for parents.
- Work with community partners on serving as a source of referrals for families in need of assistance.
- Attend staff development sessions as required.
- Work with Coordinator of Technology on possible ways technology can support the vision and activities of the Early Childhood Learning Center.
